Oct. 18, 2018 -- Dennis Livesay, dean of the Graduate School, associate vice president for Research and Technology Transfer, and professor of chemistry at Wichita State University, has been named the new dean of WSU's College of Engineering, effective Jan. 1.

Oct. 10, 2018 - WSU Tech's Dental Assistant program has moved to the Advanced Education in General Dentistry building at Wichita State.

Oct. 5, 2018 -- Retired Lt. Colonel Larry Burks is the new director of Military and Veteran Services at Wichita State University.

Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Sept. 26, 2018 - Dean Elledge, program director for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Wichita State, has won the Dentist of the Year award from the Wichita District Dental Society.

Sept. 19, 2018 -- Carli McCloud, a sophomore majoring in exercise science, was told she would never be able to cheer again after being diagnosed with a degenerative bone disorder. She's currently a member of the WSU Spirit Squad.

At Wichita State, that means researching and analyzing two areas - the next generation of medium-sized helicopters and the next generation of tactical unmanned aerosystems for the Army.

Sept. 12, 2018 - The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Wichita State hosted the first Summer Literacy Camp for children.

Aug. 16, 2018 -- WSU Old Town gets Wichita State and WSU Tech students and faculty together in labs, classrooms and break rooms to learn and take advantage of combined resources.

April 11, 2018--Wichita State University student -- and Wichita native -- Casey Ratzlaff has become the No. 1 wheelchair tennis player in the United States.

October 25, 2017--Wichita State University student James Balman is in Rockport, Texas furthering hurricane relief efforts by utilizing drones with neural imaging technology to assess damage to buildings following Hurricane Harvey.

April 10, 2017--When Michael Lee and Kristian Buan enrolled in Engineering 101, they never imagined they would win Wichita State University's first Koch Innovation Challenge.
